Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids
Omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 are unsaturated good fatty acids that support the body in metabolic processes. Unfortunately, the human body is not able to produce them on its own, which is why it is so important to administer them in food products containing these healthy fats.
Omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids, as opposed to other acids that have an adverse effect on the body, have a positive effect on the circulatory, nervous, immune and autoimmune systems.
Omega 3 fatty acids
In the case of omega 3 acids, they are most important:
- alpha linolenic acid, which is a powerful antioxidant that slows down the ageing process
- eicosapentaenoic acid, which has a direct effect on the cardiovascular system
- docosahexaenoic acid, which builds up nervous tissue, is particularly important during pregnancy because it contributes to the development of the foetus.
The most important functions of omega 3 acid are normalization of blood pressure, inhibition of ischemic heart diseases, including coronary artery disease, support of brain work through proper blood circulation, reduction of triglycerides present in blood, improvement of nerve cell membranes function of brain cortex, antiatherosclerotic action.
Omega 3 acid can be found in fish products (salmon, mackerel, herring), vegetable oils (rapeseed, linseed, peanut, soya) and almonds and walnuts.
Omega 6 fatty acids
In the case of omega 6 acids, they are most important:
- linoleic acid, which is a powerful antioxidant that inhibits cancer development
- gammaic acid - linoleic acid, which affects the state of the skin
- Arachidonic acid, which builds up cell membranes and regulates the contraction of blood vessels.
The most important functions of omega 6 acid are stabilization of blood pressure, support of diabetic neuropathy treatment, alleviation of autoimmune diseases, lowering bad cholesterol, prevention of atherosclerotic plaque formation.
Omega 6 acid can be found in: vegetable oils (corn, sunflower, rapeseed, soya), avocado, sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, vegetable margarines.
Omega 9 fatty acids
The case of omega 9 fatty acid is quite interesting, due to the fact that it is a monounsaturated acid that is included in the EFA. The most important representative of omega 9 acids is oleic acid.
One of the most important functions of omega 9 is to..: Lowering the level of bad cholesterol, lowering the level of triglycerides and protecting the skin against water loss.
Omega 9 acid can be found in: oils, oils (rapeseed, sunflower), avocado, almonds and nuts.

I've heard a lot of good things about these acids, so far I haven't paid attention to what I eat. And now I know that I have to supplement my diet with these healthy fatty acids because of my blood pressure problems.
I immediately noticed the difference during the supplementation of omega 3, 6 and 9 acids. I became less nervous.
I use fatty acids mainly because my family had coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis. I hope I can avoid them.
