Sinusitis is a serious disease that particularly affects people living in temperate climates. Gulf disease usually becomes active in autumn and winter due to unfavourable weather conditions. According to statistics, half of the Polish population went through acute sinusitis at least once.
Autumn and winter are the seasons of the year, which are extremely difficult for Poles. It is during this period that the majority of the population has upper respiratory tract infections. Sinusitis is a common cause of migraine pain. Other symptoms, such as clogged nose, yellow secretion and breathing difficulties, indicate that you have sinuses.
Congested sinuses and breathing difficulties are the first symptom of sinusitis. What else does it show up with? Gulfs that are filled with air produce dense, often yellowish secretions in the course of an infection that make breathing difficult. Depending on the location of the sinuses, the following can be distinguished: frontal, sieve, wedge and jaw.
Sinusitis is associated with infection of the sinus mucosa, which leads to obstruction. The causes of sinuses are usually batteries, viruses or fungi. Other less frequently diagnosed causes include: polyps in the nose, curvature of the nasal septum, hypertrophy of the pharyngeal tonsil or damage to the eyelashes, whose purpose is to eliminate accumulated mucus.
How to recognize sinusitis? The most common symptoms of this disease are..:
- Clogged nose
- The feeling of being torn apart around the nasal root of the nose
These basic symptoms cannot be underestimated, because the lack of any treatment can lead to many complications such as ear inflammation, pharyngitis or even inflammation of the surrounding bones. In extreme cases, hearing loss can also occur!
Sinus inflammation is often experienced by allergy sufferers, who also suffer from: eye tearing, conjunctivitis, watery secretion from the nose.
Home-made ways to congest the bays
Anyone who has experienced sinusitis at least once knows how troublesome it is. Sometimes the medication prescribed by the doctor and the nose drops do not help, what to do in such a case? Home, natural ways can be a lifesaver. The most common methods used are:
- Warm compresses - this method will help with the pain of sinuses, which is located at the base of the nose. Compresses can be made with hot peas, which should be poured into the bag.
- Water massage - massaging the area where the bays are located with warm water can be beneficial, especially in the early stages of infection.
- Rubbing with ointments - camphor and amber ointment will do the trick to warm up infected areas

Inhalation into sinuses is the most commonly used method. This treatment can be performed using salts, herbs or essential oils. Inhalations with tea oil are very pleasant because of the smell of the product. For the treatment it is enough to prepare a few drops of oil and a dish with hot water. Inhalation should last several minutes, at least once a day.
