Varicose veins - 3 ways to prevent them
Varicose veins in the lower extremities are a disease that affects a large proportion of the middle-aged and elderly population. Although mainly women suffer from it, there is no shortage of men complaining about changes in veins and whole legs. However, it is worth counteracting them before they become a burning problem, with which we will be able to win only by means of surgery.
When - mainly in the evenings - your legs are swollen, reddened, you feel like smoking, pressure or cramping in them, you can't underestimate that. It may turn out that this is the embryo of a huge problem, which are varicose veins of lower limbs. Then - apart from an obvious visit to the doctor - it is worth changing your harmful habits, which may bring us disease and other ailments.
In today's article we will present you with 3 basic ways to prevent varicose veins.
Don't stand still! Don't sit too much!
We all work in different places, in different professions with different characteristics. Some work is done fully standing up, others require us to sit up all the time. Neither is the situation perfect for our veins. The pressure that accumulates in them when sitting or standing for several hours makes the veins less and less efficient. The first symptom is the spider veins on the legs. If you already notice them at home and want to prevent them from growing bigger, bring some diversity to your way of working. If you are working in a sitting position, get up, do short leg exercises, take short walks at work (e.g. for tea or coffee) and under no circumstances set foot on your leg. But if you are working standing up, find time to sit down, criminalize from foot to foot, do some foot exercises.
Change your diet!
It has been known for a long time that diet has a colossal impact on our health. The same goes for the varicose veins problems. A poorly balanced menu based on salt, sugar and bad fats is conducive to obesity, and this in turn is one of the factors magnifying varicose veins. If you want to prevent future venous insufficiency, it is essential to give up fattening food in favour of healthy fruit and vegetables, groats and rice. Such a solution has two advantages - not only will your well-being improve and confidence increase, but you will also prevent cardiovascular diseases.
Change the way you dress!
As it turns out, the varicose veins of the lower limbs can also be affected by the way they are dressed! Not everyone knows about it, but too tight trousers, tights or heeled shoes are a real breeding ground for cardiovascular diseases - mainly veins of lower extremities. To prevent them and enjoy good health, don't wear them or just slowly reduce them. We know that it is not easy to get rid of one's own style, but health should play a major role here! Varicose veins are a serious matter and it is better to fight them before they show up than to run after doctors and finally count on surgery.
