How to care for acne complexion in winter?
Winter is a difficult time for the skin, but acne complexion requires a particularly thoughtful care during this period. In the cold season, the skin begins to greasy more than usual, which exacerbates the problem, there are also irritations caused by unfavourable weather conditions. All this makes it worthwhile to take care of your skin in a special way in winter.
In winter, the skin tries to cope with dryness by producing more sebum than usual. Contrary to appearances, it is therefore necessary to provide it with adequate moisture instead of additionally drying and matting it. It is best to apply richer creams at night, so as not to expose hydrated skin to frost, while during the day, semi-fat products will work perfectly. It is also good to remember about sunscreens.
Hygiene is the basis for every skin type, but in the case of acne it is worth remembering to wash your face in water at the right temperature. It is best to use lukewarm water in order not to damage the protective layer of the skin. Hot water additionally dries the skin and causes increased sebum secretion.
Don't touch your face
In winter we wear scarves and hats that irritate acne lesions. It is not necessary to touch them additionally, because it may cause the increase of inflammation and the formation of new ones. However, under no circumstances should we squeeze out any changes - it will certainly not bring the expected results, and may lead to inflammation of existing imperfections and the creation of unsightly traces and discolourations.
In the case of acne, appropriate products for acne and problematic skin should be used. Such preparations often have an antibacterial effect, thanks to which they limit the formation of new changes or accelerate the healing of those that have already appeared. It is worth betting on products that additionally regulate the secretion of sebum, so that the skin will be less oily.
