Phone accessories
Every lady knows how difficult it is to find a black phone in a dark handbag. For all this filled with dozens of other things, it would seem, necessary things. Without going into details of what each of us carries in his purse, we present an interesting idea for a quilted phone case. Not only will it protect the device from damage, but it will also decorate and enhance the use of the phone.
STEP I - Preparation of the fabric
Prepare a fabric that you will use to make your case. Iron the fabric properly, because after sewing the wadding it won't be that easy, so it's better to do it now.
STEP II- Make a phone template
If you don't have a phone you want to make a case for (e.g. in case you want to make a gift for someone) then make a three-dimensional simple model of cardboard. Write down the dimensions of the phone, draw on cardboard, cut and glue (so that the thickness is the same as in the phone).
STEP III - Cutting out fabric elements
Cut out two pieces of fabric so that the phone model fits in twice, with a large supply. Cut out one more of the same piece of fabric as the previous one (it doesn't have to be cut evenly!) and prepare the same piece of wadding.

STEP IV - Folding of the material
Bind the layers together: on the very bottom put the first piece of fabric (right side down), then the wadding and on top of it another piece of fabric (right side up). Put pins on everything in a few places.
STEP V - Fabric quilting
Sew the whole thing with a fairly long stitch, as in the picture, the spacing between the lines is about 0.5cm. Choose a thread that will match the fabric - in our case it's a white thread.
STEP VI - Drawing a phone template
Iron the whole thing. Draw the model on the fabric - the phone, on which our case is made, has dimensions of 13x6x1cm, so a rectangle 15cm high and 8cm wide has been drawn on the fabric. Both pieces must be even - the best way is to draw lines from the ruler and then cut them out.
STEP VII - Preparing the trimmings
Select the fabric so that the colour matches the main fabric approximately. Cut as many trimmings as needed to trim the two shorter sides of the case's main panel. Iron the piping in half to make it more comfortable to sew.
STEP VIII - Stitching the elements of the phone case
Sew the piping on one shorter edge of each panel, then right side to right side tie the fabrics together with pins, cover three edges (except for the piping), first with a simple zigzag stitch (0.5cm from the edge) and then correct with a thick zigzag stitch for protection.
STEP VIII - Finishing the cover with a button and a ribbon
Turn the case to the right side, check if everything is well sewn together and there are no shortcomings. If all is well, choose a button and ribbon matching the fabrics used. Sew a thin ribbon (or elastic band) in the middle of one of the inner sides of the case, securing it with a very thick zigzag stitch. Then sew the button into the right place so that you can put a ribbon on it. Before sewing the button on, it is best to put the phone/cardboard model inside and check where to sew it (mark it with a pencil or fabric marker). Button and ribbon are used to prevent the phone from falling out when pulling the case upside down from the bag.
