How to take care of your spine?
September 18, 2016
In order to avoid pain, it is necessary to take constant care of the spine. First of all, it should be kept upright. The healthiest thing for our spine is to avoid non-physiological positions, the back should be straight. Movement and continuous strengthening of the muscles responsible for stabilizing the spine are also very important.
When we are young and fit, we may think that our spine is immune to everything, but as the years go by, when the first pain occurs, we realize that it is not. The most exposed to the risk of various spinal disorders are people who are not physically active, overweight or working behind a desk.
So how do we avoid problems? The best way is prevention. It has long been clear that prevention is much better than cure. That is why it is necessary to start taking care of the spine, which is a scaffolding for our body, at a young age.
Curves of the spine
The spine is not exposed to excessive strain if the correct posture is maintained. This is due, among other things, to its curves. Disorders of the physiological position of the spine result in damage to its biomechanics. That is why it is so important to strengthen the muscles responsible for stabilizing the spine. Otherwise, prolonged overloading of the spine can cause permanent dysfunction with severe and permanent pain.
How do I protect myself from back pain?
The best way to avoid back pain is to move. For example, it turns out that the interfacial discs are most effectively nourished during movement. Staying in one position for a longer period of time increases the risk of pain. Even when working once in a while, remember to change your position and do some stretching exercises.
In addition, it is worth to constantly take care of your physical condition. In order to take care of your spine, we should strengthen abdominal muscles and spinal muscles by performing appropriate strength exercises. Running or cycling also helps. You can train everywhere, even in your own apartment, you just need to stock up on the appropriate equipment for exercises (electric treadmill, training bike).
Wearing the right footwear is also important in taking care of your spine. Above all, it should be comfortable and with as low a heel as possible. Walking in heels can lead to dangerous disorders of the spine.
